Excitement is building among New Radiant Sports Club supporters as Ali Suzain, one of the most successful coaches in Maldivian football, is poised to become the club’s new Head Coach. Although the official agreement is yet to be signed, it is expected to be finalized very soon.
New Radiant Chairman Ahmed Mubeen expressed the enthusiasm felt by fans in a recent Facebook post, describing Suzain’s appointment as a long-cherished dream for the club’s passionate supporters. “Seeing Suzain on New Radiant’s bench is the supporters’ dream,” Mubeen stated, highlighting the significance of this moment for the club with the largest fan base in the Maldives.
Ali Suzain brings a wealth of experience to New Radiant, having previously coached the Maldives national team and enjoyed considerable success with Victory Sports Club, New Radiant’s fiercest rival. His coaching portfolio also includes stints with Maziya SRC, Club Green Streets, and Thinadhoo Football Team.
New Radiant had made several attempts in the past to secure Suzain as their coach, making this successful negotiation a momentous occasion for the club’s fans. Suzain, who played for Victory in his youth, taking the helm at New Radiant is a rare and notable event in Maldivian football history, symbolizing a bridge between two major rival teams.
The club’s former Head Coach, Soba, has recently been appointed as the coach of the Maldives Under-17 national team, clearing the way for Suzain’s arrival.
Beyond coaching, both Suzain and Chairman Mubeen are influential figures in Maldivian football administration. They currently lead the committee celebrating the 75th Diamond Jubilee of Maldivian football, with Suzain as Chairman and Mubeen as Deputy Chairman.
With Ali Suzain now at the helm of the Maldives’ most successful football club, supporters are eagerly anticipating a thrilling new season ahead.
