The Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has announced the launch of its new state-of-the-art Hybrid Operating Theatre, located on the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital. The announcement was made via the hospital's official social media page on Friday.

This advanced facility, which also includes a Cath Lab, will significantly enhance IGMH's ability to conduct a range of critical procedures, including neurological, cardiac, and peripheral interventional surgeries. The introduction of the Hybrid Operating Theatre marks a major milestone in improving the quality of healthcare services in the Maldives, bringing world-class care to the local population.

The Hybrid Operating Theatre, which was conceptualized six years ago, has now been fully mobilized. Dharumavantha Hospital itself was developed under the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, as part of a multi-billion Maldivian Rufiyaa project valued at over MVR 2 billion.

Currently, several floors of the hospital are utilized by IGMH to provide a wide range of medical services to the public. The addition of this cutting-edge operating theatre is expected to significantly improve the hospital’s capacity to offer complex and life-saving treatments.

The Hybrid Operating Theatre is a part of the ongoing efforts to upgrade healthcare infrastructure in the Maldives and ensure that patients have access to the best possible medical care.
