Ukulhas Council has officially launched three digital platforms aimed at modernising its administrative operations and making public services more accessible and efficient for residents.

The platforms were unveiled under the initiative “Ukulhas 2.0” at a special ceremony held at the island's Convention Centre on Thursday night, 29 October 2026.

The newly introduced platforms include the council's revamped website, the My Ukulhas mobile application, and the My Council intranet system.

The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Abdullah Anees, who highlighted the importance of digitalizing and consolidating information to improve service delivery.

Speaking at the event, Ukulhas Council President Ali Waheed said the primary objective of Ukulhas 2.0 is to simplify administrative processes and strengthen communication between the council, residents and council employees.

He described the initiative as an important step towards modernizing council operations through digital solutions and ensuring residents have easier and more convenient access to public services.

During the ceremony, Ahmed Mahfooz, the developer of the My Ukulhas application, also spoke about some of the challenges encountered in developing the digital platforms, identifying information gathering as one of the biggest challenges.

A special presentation was also delivered, demonstrating the features and services available through the newly launched platforms.

The My Ukulhas application and the council's website are designed to provide residents with convenient access to information and public services. Meanwhile, My Council is an internal intranet system developed specifically to support employees in managing the council's administrative and operational activities.
