Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has described Victory Day as a powerful symbol of Maldivian courage, patriotism and national pride.
In a message shared on social media to mark Victory Day, Maumoon extended his sincere greetings to the Maldivian people, saying 3 November stands as a reminder of the nation's commitment to its independence, sovereignty and national identity.
He said the events of 38 years ago demonstrated to the world the determination of the Maldivian people to defend their country and preserve their independence.
