The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR), the largest and most anticipated running event in the Maldives, is set to return for its 15th edition on October 25, 2024. This year’s event will take place at Central Park, Hulhumale'.

Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Director of Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu, highlighted the significance of the DMRR, stating, that the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is not only the largest running event in the Maldives but also a key initiative aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a culture of competitive running and mass participation.”

In an effort to heighten excitement for this year's race, Dhiraagu has introduced a new category: the Office & Resort – 5K team event. This addition allows teams from various resorts and offices to compete and represent their organizations, adding a new dimension of engagement and competition.

The DMRR is the Maldives’ only international running event recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and features a World Athletics-certified race route. Last year, the event attracted participants from 27 countries, underscoring its global appeal.

Continuing its tradition of supporting social causes, this year’s DMRR will also focus on child protection, aligning with Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

Registration for the race is now open at [www.dmrr.mv] (http://www.dmrr.mv), with an entry fee of MVR 250. The event has a participation limit of 4,000 runners, and registration will close once this limit is reached.
