In a significant leadership change, Ahmed Nasif has been removed from his role as chairperson of regional airports. This decision was communicated in a letter to Ahmed Mubeen, managing director of regional airports, by the privatisation and corporatisation board, which oversees the operations of state-owned commercial establishments.
The letter stated that the change was implemented in accordance with the board’s policies on the privatisation, corporatisation, monitoring, and evaluation of such entities. The move reflects ongoing efforts to enhance governance and operational efficiency within the regional airports sector.
Ahmed Mubeen took to social media to express his gratitude to Nasif for his dedicated service during his tenure. “We thank Ahmed Nasif for his valuable contributions to regional airports and wish him every success in his future endeavors,” Mubeen posted, acknowledging Nasif’s efforts in guiding the organization.
Sources suggest that Nasif is set to transition to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), where he is expected to take on new responsibilities. This upcoming appointment underscores the board’s confidence in Nasif's capabilities and experience in managing large-scale projects and initiatives.
The regional airports have undergone various changes in recent years, and the leadership shake-up is part of a broader strategy aimed at optimizing operations and improving service delivery to the public.
As the aviation sector continues to evolve, stakeholders will be watching closely to see how these changes will impact the future of regional airports and the broader transportation landscape.
