Maldivian Police Officer Heads to Dubai for Advanced Policing Course

Male, Maldives – Constable Aminath Mushrifa of the Maldives Police Service has departed for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the prestigious "Professional Diploma in Policing Innovation and Leadership" course. The program, organized by Dubai Police in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology - Dubai, aims to equip law enforcement officers with modern techniques, leadership skills, and innovative strategies to advance policing practices.
This marks the first time a Maldivian police officer has been selected for this four-month residential training program, which runs from January 13, 2025, to May 10, 2025. The course features a comprehensive curriculum, including eight academic modules and five tactical modules.
Course Highlights
The academic modules cover critical topics such as:
- UAE society and law enforcement
- Emerging technologies in policing
- Police leadership and innovation
- Policing in smart cities
- Digital transformation in law enforcement
The tactical modules provide hands-on training in areas like weapons use, incident management, and crisis negotiation, ensuring participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Constable Mushrifa's participation in this program reflects the Maldives Police Service's commitment to enhancing its capabilities through international training and collaboration.
