Over Half a Million Tourists Visit Maldives in 2025

Maldives has welcomed over half a million tourists this year, marking an 11.2% increase compared to last year.

According to the latest statistics, as of February 8th, 279,916 tourists have visited the country. This is a significant rise from the 251,503 arrivals recorded during the same timeframe in 2023.

China remains the leading source market for Maldives tourism, with over 500,000 Chinese tourists visiting since the beginning of the year. Russia follows as the second-largest market.

In the past week alone, 55,558 tourists arrived in the Maldives—an increase of 5% compared to the 52,511 arrivals during the same week last year.

The highest number of tourist arrivals recorded in a single day this year was on February 1st, with 9,495 visitors entering the country.

With strong growth in arrivals, the Maldives continues to solidify its position as a top global travel destination.
