Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, is marking the Kingdom’s 94th National Day with a striking new livery on one of its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The aircraft, registered as HZ-ARB, was repainted at Teruel in Aragon, Spain, starting on August 22, 2024. The vibrant new design honors the nation's cultural and historic heritage, celebrating Saudi Arabia’s progress and achievements as part of the broader Vision 2030 initiative.
This isn’t the first time Saudia has embraced the spirit of National Day with a special aircraft livery. In 2016, an Airbus A330-300 (HZ-AQE) was painted in a unique National Day design, a livery it continues to wear to this day.
As part of the National Day celebrations, Saudia has also announced a special promotion. The airline is offering a ‘buy one, get one free’ deal on round-trip tickets for flights from Kuwait, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Amman, Cairo, and Istanbul to Saudi Arabia’s key cities: Jeddah, Riyadh, and Madinah. This offer is available for tickets issued between September 1 and September 14, 2024, with inbound travel between September 18 and 21, and outbound travel between September 22 and 30, 2024.
The launch of the new livery comes just one year after Saudia introduced its refreshed brand identity in September 2023. The airline’s new look is a modern interpretation of Saudi Arabia’s cultural and natural elements. The green of the livery symbolizes the Saudi flag and reflects the nation's culture and generosity. The blue represents the Kingdom’s skies and seas, while a tan color, reminiscent of AlUla’s sands, symbolizes progress and pays homage to the desert.
The rebranding is part of Saudia's broader digital transformation strategy, aligning with Vision 2030, which aims to modernize and diversify the Kingdom's economy. As part of this transformation, Saudia also introduced a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) virtual assistant to enhance the customer experience, furthering the airline’s commitment to innovation and service excellence.
In addition to the Dreamliner’s National Day livery, Saudia also maintains two Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with retro liveries introduced in 2021, underscoring the airline’s commitment to celebrating its rich history while embracing the future.
With its new livery and exciting promotional offers, Saudia continues to highlight its role as a symbol of national pride while providing world-class service to its passengers.
