Lebanon's PM Condemns Israeli Attacks on Beirut Suburbs, Citing Indifference to Ceasefire Efforts

Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has condemned Israel’s recent attacks on southern Beirut suburbs, asserting that they demonstrate Israel's disregard for international calls for a ceasefire. Mikati issued this statement while attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where discussions were underway regarding a proposed 21-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

The latest Israeli strikes targeted the Dahiyeh area, specifically destroying four buildings in the Haret Hreik district. Civil defense teams are currently working to extinguish multiple fires resulting from the attacks.

Mikati's remarks reflect the deepening tensions and humanitarian concerns arising from the ongoing conflict, as Lebanon continues to face the repercussions of military actions in the region.
