On Monday, Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon killed nine people in retaliation for an attack claimed by Hezbollah, which had targeted an Israeli position. The strikes hit villages in southern Lebanon, including Haris and Tallous, where Lebanon's health ministry reported casualties. The airstrikes came after Hezbollah launched an attack on an Israeli position in the disputed Kfar Shouba area. Israel’s military claimed it was targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and warned that Hezbollah’s actions were a violation of the ceasefire.
The ceasefire, which had been brokered to end the war between Israel and Hezbollah, has already faced accusations of violations from both sides. The Israeli military asserted that its strikes were in response to Hezbollah's violations, while Lebanon's parliament speaker accused Israel of breaching the truce with aggressive actions. French officials, including President Emmanuel Macron, expressed concerns about the situation and urged both sides to respect the ceasefire.
