Hezbollah has confirmed the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in a significant airstrike on a densely populated neighborhood in Beirut, which left several residential buildings in ruins. As Israel intensifies its bombing campaign, Hezbollah vows to continue its confrontation with Israel in support of Gaza and for the defense of Lebanon.
Iran’s Supreme Leader condemned the attacks, describing the “massacre of the defenseless people in Lebanon” as indicative of Israel’s “short-sighted” policies. Ongoing Israeli air raids are forcing more families to flee their homes, with at least 41,586 casualties reported in Gaza and 1,139 deaths in Israel since the Hamas-led attacks on October 7.
In response to the escalating situation, the US Department of State has ordered non-essential embassy staff and their families to leave Lebanon, warning that options for departure may diminish as security conditions worsen. The State Department has urged American citizens in Lebanon to evacuate while commercial options are still available.
Additionally, the Houthi movement claimed responsibility for firing a ballistic missile at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport during the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Further updates will be provided as new information emerges.
