Arsenal Stunned by Fourth-Division Fleetwood in Carabao Cup Penalty Shock

Arsenal have been knocked out of the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after losing to fourth-division side Fleetwood Town on penalties.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw at Highbury Stadium before Fleetwood secured a 5-3 victory in the penalty shootout.

Fleetwood, who are ranked 18th in the fourth division, took the lead in the 21st minute through Aaron Lupalo-Bee. Victor Giokares equalised for Arsenal early in the second half, but Arsenal were unable to find another goal.

Arsenal's Max Doumann was sent off with a red card just five minutes into the match.

Fleetwood's goalkeeper saved a penalty taken by Arsenal's Bruno Guimaraes, helping the fourth-division side secure the victory.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta made major changes to his squad for the match. However, the withdrawal of senior players, including Martin Odegaard and Ben White, in the second half made it difficult for Arsenal to stay in the competition.
