At the launch ceremony for the National Action Plan on Prevention and Response to Violence Against Children, held at the Meeruma Hotel, Madam Saajidha underscored the critical importance of safeguarding children and highlighted the collective role of the community in this effort.
Addressing attendees, Madam Saajidha stressed that the protection of children is a fundamental responsibility that extends beyond individual families to encompass the entire community. She referenced President Dr. Mohammed Muizz’s manifesto, which emphasizes child protection as a core priority.
Madam Saajidha reiterated the need for an unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child receives the care and protection they deserve. She spoke about the significance of raising widespread awareness to build resilience among children and assist them in recovering from experiences of violence.
This plan is more than just a policy, it's a comprehensive strategy, a clear road map, that outlines how we will prevent, protect and respond to violence against our children. Our vision is clear, a future where every child grows up in an environment free from violence, where they can develop as responsible, resilient and confident individuals. Achieving this vision requires a united effort.
The National Action Plan aims to address and prevent violence against children through a comprehensive approach that includes policy implementation, community engagement, and support systems. By fostering collaboration and increasing awareness, the plan seeks to build a robust framework for child protection and support.
The ceremony concluded with a call to action for everyone to contribute to fostering a safe environment for children, reinforcing the notion that collective effort is essential to achieving the goals outlined in the action plan.
