Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef attended a vibrant cultural evening in Maaungoodhoo on Saturday, marking National Day celebrations at the atoll level. The event, held in front of the Maaungoodhoo Health Centre, was a collaborative effort by the North Miladhunmadulu Atoll Council and the Maaungoodhoo Island Council.

The cultural evening, presented by the parents of Maaungoodhoo School, featured a range of activities celebrating the rich cultural heritage and early lifestyle of the Maldivian people. Highlights included traditional performances and a drama depicting historical narratives.

During the event, Vice President Latheef toured various stalls set up to showcase elements of early Maldivian life. He engaged with the exhibits and received detailed briefings on the historical context presented at each stall. The event drew a large crowd, including many children, reflecting strong community engagement and enthusiasm.

In addition to the cultural festivities, Vice President Latheef is scheduled to attend a banquet later in the evening, honoring the guests who traveled to Maaungoodhoo for the National Day celebrations. This banquet underscores the island’s hospitality and the significance of the occasion in fostering national pride and unity.
