Parliament Committee Passes No Confidence Motion Against Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem.

In a decisive move today, the Parliament's Judiciary Committee passed a no-confidence motion against Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem.

This decision follows a complaint filed by PNC MP Mohammed Shahid from the Hulhudhoo constituency, who raised multiple issues regarding Shameem's conduct.

During the committee meeting, Shameem was given the opportunity to respond to the allegations. While the specifics of his defense were not disclosed to the public, a committee member confirmed that the motion to remove him from his position was approved.

Shameem had previously dismissed the cases against him as baseless.
