The Maldives Meteorological Office (MET) has issued a white alert due to heavy rain and thunderstorms expected across the region. The alert is in effect from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on September 29, covering areas from Lhaviyani Atoll to Faafu Atoll.

The forecast indicates showery conditions with thundershowers primarily affecting the northern and central parts of the country, while southern areas are also anticipated to experience showers. Wind gusts are expected to reach between 8 and 18 mph, with potential peaks of up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

The MET has advised that seas will be moderately to cloudy, with wave heights ranging from 3 to 6 feet. Residents and seafarers are urged to exercise caution during this period.
