Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Muaz Mohamed Rasheed has announced that the newly installed smart meters in Kudahuvadhoo are set to tackle public grievances about high electricity bills. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the smart meter installation, Rasheed emphasized that the advanced technology aims to resolve issues related to inflated billing.

Muaz stated that the complaints regarding inflated electricity bills have been a significant concern for the community and with the introduction of smart meters, these issues will be addressed effectively. The smart meters will allow users to monitor their electricity consumption daily through their phones, providing greater transparency and control.

The smart meters, which have now been installed in all households in Kudahuvadhoo, enable residents to view real-time data on their electricity usage. This feature is anticipated to reduce the end-of-month billing complaints and enhance consumer satisfaction.

Muaz also highlighted Fenaka's future plans to extend the smart metering technology to water meters and have said that it will offer a lot of help to the public.

In addition to Kudahuvadhoo, Fenaka plans to roll out smart meters across several other islands, including Atoll, Haa Dhaal, Baa, Meemu, Faafu Atoll, and Fuvahmulah City.

The smart meter installation initiative includes the launch of a dedicated app, which was inaugurated by Climate Change, Environment, and Energy Minister Thariq Ibrahim. The app provides users with easy access to their energy consumption data, reinforcing Fenaka's commitment to enhancing service efficiency and customer experience.
