State Electric Company (STELCO) has issued a warning about fraudulent scam calls being made in the company’s name. Managing Director Hussain Fahmy shared the alert on 'X,' noting that STELCO has received multiple complaints about scam calls attempting to collect personal and financial information under false pretenses.

Fahmy emphasized that STELCO will never request caste or financial details over the phone. He advised the public to immediately disconnect any suspicious calls and to contact STELCO directly to verify the authenticity of such communications.

The warning follows similar past incidents where individuals were deceived by scam calls purportedly from other state-run companies, such as HDC, which led to significant financial losses through fraudulent schemes promising flats or apartments.
