The Israeli army's deadly offensive on the besieged enclave in Gaza, Palestine, has claimed five lives, according to a medical source on the 9th of december

Three people were killed by Israeli shelling that targeted a group of civilians in Jabalia, northern Gaza, according to the source.

It also said, another Palestinian was killed in a drone strike in the same city, and another Israeli was killed in a strike in Khirbet Al-Adas, north of Rafah in southern Gaza.

Witnesses reported that Israeli forces fired on displaced people's tents in the western Rafah neighborhood of Mawasi.

In order to compel displaced civilians to leave the building, Israeli army forces also set fire to a school in Beit Lahia, they added.

The Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City was the target of an Israeli airstrike, but there is currently no information on the number of people injured.

In the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City, the Israeli army set fire to a truck that was transporting goods.

According to witnesses who spoke to Anadolu Agency, the army pulled over the privately owned truck as it was traveling down Salah al-Din Street toward the southern section of the enclave.

They also said that after forcing the driver to exit the truck and transporting him to an unidentified location, the army set the vehicle on fire.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, which cited political sources, Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas are nearing an agreement on a "small" ceasefire.

"The two sides are close to finalizing a deal that would include a two-month ceasefire," the broadcasting authority said, citing unnamed Israeli sources.

Israel has killed at least eight Palestinians and injured numerous others in its bombardment of besieged Gaza's central and southern regions.

An airstrike struck the tent where a man and his wife were staying in the central Gaza town of Al-Zawayda, killing them and seriously wounding six others, including their infant daughter, a medical source told Anadolu Agency.

Another medical source reported that an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle and a civilian vehicle in the Khirbat Al-Adas neighborhood of Rafah city, killing six more Palestinians and injuring several more.

According to witnesses, the strike targeted people in the Al-Nahal neighborhood of Khirbat Al-Adas who were looking for flour.

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a hostage exchange in besieged Gaza may result from the overthrow of Bashar al Assad's regime in Syria.

According to him, the overthrow of Assad "may lead to new chances to fortify an agreement for the repatriation of the hostages from Gaza."

The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza said that Israel's assault had cut off oxygen, water, and electricity, putting the lives of over 100 patients in jeopardy.

Recent Israeli bombings and shelling, according to Hossam Abu Safiyeh, have seriously damaged the hospital and cut off parts of its electricity and water supplies.

He declared, "We urgently appeal to the international community for assistance, as the outage of water and electricity persists."

"The situation is extremely dangerous. We have patients in the intensive care unit and others awaiting surgeries. Access to the operating rooms is only possible after restoring electricity and oxygen supply." he said

Safiyeh said the hospital currently had 112 wounded patients, including six in intensive care and 14 children.

Cyril Ramaphosa, the president of South Africa, has stated that Israel's "barbaric war" against the Gaza population must stop.

In a transcript made public by the government and viewed by Anadolu over the weekend, Ramaphosa stated, "South Africa and Algeria stand firm in our support for the Palestinian people's quest for self-determination," while speaking to Algeria's parliament on Friday during a working visit.

"We cannot turn a blind eye to this injustice," he said, adding that "the killing of women, children, and non-combatants; the bombardment of homes, schools, and hospitals; and the denial of humanitarian aid is a stain on the conscience of the world."
