Israeli troops have killed two Palestinians in the occupied West Bank as part of an intensified military campaign targeting the Jenin refugee camp. The ongoing operation, which began earlier this week, has claimed at least 12 lives and injured dozens across the Jenin governorate.
Israel’s military and intelligence services announced plans for a “series of operations” in Jenin, signaling an expansion of its campaign in the area. Officials described this as part of a “multi-front war” that has increasingly shifted focus to the West Bank.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to unfold. Although aid trucks have started entering the besieged enclave, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that many returning Palestinians will find their homes destroyed or uninhabitable.
The war on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in staggering casualties. At least 47,283 Palestinians have been killed, and 111,472 have been injured in the territory. On the same day, a Hamas-led attack in Israel killed 1,139 people and resulted in over 200 being taken captive.
As tensions remain high, the international community continues to call for a lasting solution to the conflict.
