Arab countries have strongly condemned Israel’s recent seizure of a demilitarized buffer zone in Syria’s Golan Heights, accusing Israel of violating Syria’s sovereignty and international law. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq have all called for global action against Israel’s move, which they described as an illegal occupation of Syrian territory.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry labeled the action a breach of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which led to Israel’s partial withdrawal from Syria but left the Golan Heights under Israeli control. Saudi Arabia and Qatar warned that the move would escalate tensions in the region.
The Arab League also condemned the Israeli actions, calling it a “blatant violation” of Syria’s territorial integrity. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the military to capture the buffer zone, further fueling regional instability.
