Police have said that they are looking into the issue of issuing an unverified court order to arrest former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom as a serious matter.

In a statement, the police said that the report, which was being circulated on social media platforms, was found to be incorrect and that the "header" used in the report did not match with the one used in the report and the one used in the police documents.

Therefore, the report is copied by copying the format used in the official police documents and the police

Police said they are investigating as a serious matter the production and circulation of the unverified report. The police are also investigating the case as the anti-corruption commission has requested the service to investigate the matter as an unverified report is being circulated.
