Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced the reopening of its building dedicated to bunkering services, scheduled for Thursday. The new facility, named the 'Uligamu International Ship and Port Security Gate,' is set to significantly enhance operational efficiency and convenience for maritime service providers.

The newly constructed building, located in Uligam, aims to streamline various maritime services, providing a comprehensive suite of support to vessels operating in the region. MPL CEO Wajih highlighted the importance of this development, noting that it will greatly benefit service workers by centralizing essential services in one location.

In conjunction with the facility's reopening, MPL has launched a dedicated website, UMS, designed to simplify the process of accessing maritime services. The website will serve as a one-stop platform for various service requests, allowing users to apply for and manage their needs online.

The range of services available through the UMS website includes:

1. Bunkering: Fueling services for vessels
2. Pilotage Services: Guidance for navigating port waters
3. Crew Change: Facilitating crew rotations
4. STS (Ship-to-Ship Service): Transfers between vessels at sea
5. Launch Services: Transportation to and from ships
6. Water Services: Provision of fresh water
7. Supply of Provisions: Delivery of food and other supplies
8. Lubricating and Hydraulic Oil Supply: Maintenance supplies for machinery
9. Yacht Docking Services: Facilities for docking yachts
10. Maintenance Services: Repairs and upkeep
11. Underwater Services: Submersible repairs and inspections
12. Tug Service: Assistance with maneuvering ships
13. Marine Salvage: Recovery of vessels and cargo
