The Maldives Customs Service has announced that it will continue to offer essential services today, despite Wednesday and Thursday being observed as government holidays in celebration of National Day.

In a statement, the Customs Service confirmed that its office in the Greater Malé Region will remain operational to handle the issuance and clearance of goods. This move ensures that import and export processes, which are critical to trade and commerce, will not be disrupted during the national festivities.

The services available during this period will include:

  • Issuance and Clearance of Goods: Facilitating the processing and release of goods.
  • Vehicle Clearances: Managing the customs procedures for vehicles.
  • Bonded Warehouse Services: Overseeing operations related to bonded warehouses.

By keeping the customs office open, the Maldives Customs Service aims to support businesses and maintain the smooth flow of goods, even as the nation observes its National Day. This decision reflects a commitment to minimizing disruptions and providing essential support to stakeholders in the trade and logistics sectors during the holiday period.
