Israeli settlers rampaged through two Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank, north of Jerusalem, overnight, leaving homes, a nursery, and a local business in flames. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, at least 12 Palestinians sustained injuries in the attacks, with reports of Israeli forces providing support to the settlers during the violence.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the raids followed the release of 90 Palestinian detainees as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Despite the truce, dozens of Palestinians have been arrested in subsequent military operations across the West Bank.

Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs confirmed that 915 aid trucks entered Gaza on Monday, the second day of the ceasefire. These supplies bring much-needed relief to a population devastated by the war.

However, violence has persisted. A young child was among three Palestinians fatally shot by Israeli forces in Rafah, southern Gaza, since the ceasefire began on Sunday.

The war, which erupted on October 7, 2023, has claimed the lives of at least 47,035 Palestinians and left 111,091 wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. On the Israeli side, 1,139 people were killed, and more than 200 were taken hostage during the initial Hamas-led attacks.

As international efforts focus on sustaining the ceasefire and delivering aid, tensions remain high, with continued violence in the West Bank threatening to destabilize the fragile peace in the region.
