Heavy winds and rainfall caused significant damage near Henveiru Sahara this morning, as a large tree fell due to the adverse weather conditions. The tree, which was believed to have toppled from a main branch connected to the trunk, crashed into the street, located on the property of former Henveiru South MP Hussain Shaheem (Andhun Hussain) in Sahara side.

The tree's fall caused extensive damage, particularly to motorcycles and cars parked in the vicinity. It is believed that the heavy rain earlier in the morning, coupled with strong winds, contributed to the tree’s fall. This incident follows another similar event earlier in the day, where a large tree had fallen on the Kasinji Magu side in Henveiru Sahara. That fall also caused damage to nearby motorcycles and vehicles.

In response to the incidents, the Male' City Council and local police worked swiftly to remove the fallen tree and clear the area to ensure public safety. No casualties or injuries were reported, but the damage to property was significant.

The weather conditions that led to these tree falls are part of the ongoing monsoon season, which has been bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds to parts of the Maldives. Local authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and stay informed about weather warnings to avoid further accidents.
