On Wednesday, the newly elected representatives for the three vacant seats on the Male City Council were sworn into office.

The by-election, which took place on July 20, was held to fill the three open positions on the council. These seats became available after the previous councillors were elected to parliament. The ruling PNC secured all three positions.

The newly sworn-in members are:

1. Fatimath Shaufa for Henveiru West
2. Fathimath Ishan Ali for Machchangoalhi Central
3. Ali Aiman for Hulhumale

Drug Court Judge Mohamed Sameer conducted the oath-taking ceremony, which was held at Maagiri.
