The Maldives Immigration Department has deported four expatriates connected to a prostitution ring following a joint operation with police. The deportations occurred after an inspection on August 11, which targeted foreign nationals involved in illegal activities.
The deported individuals include three women and one man, all from Thailand. The group comprises a 36-year-old woman, a 38-year-old woman, a 41-year-old woman, and a 35-year-old man. They were returned to their home country on August 25.
The operation is part of a broader crackdown on prostitution and illegal activities involving foreigners in the Maldives. In recent months, police have intensified efforts to address this issue, resulting in several arrests and deportations.
Additionally, a comprehensive operation conducted jointly by the police and the Immigration Department has led to the repatriation of 3,322 expatriates found to be in violation of immigration laws. This ongoing effort aims to ensure that foreign nationals comply with legal regulations and contribute to maintaining public order in the country.
