Arfath Hossain, a 32-year-old Bangladeshi national, has been arrested in the Maldives for allegedly serving burgers made from stray cats.

The arrest follows a social media uproar accusing him of capturing, cooking, and selling cat meat.

The Maldives police launched an urgent investigation after the disturbing claims emerged, and the Immigration Department issued a search notice.

Hossain was apprehended with the assistance of both police and immigration officials and is currently in custody.

The case remains under investigation, with further details yet to be released.
