Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to strengthening its longstanding relationship with Saudi Arabia during a high-level meeting with Saudi Arabia's Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Rabiah.

During the meeting, Dr. Shaheem expressed deep gratitude for the efforts of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in enhancing Hajj and Umrah services and serving the Two Holy Mosques. He also acknowledged the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for its continuous support in addressing challenges faced by Maldivian pilgrims.

"Strengthening the brotherly relations with Saudi Arabia is a top priority for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, and this relationship will always remain strong," Dr. Shaheem stated.

Hajj and Umrah Collaboration

Dr. Shaheem highlighted the significance of Saudi Arabia's annual Hajj Exhibition, which has modernized Hajj management, and noted that the Maldives has also begun hosting a special Hajj and Umrah conference since last year. He extended an invitation to Dr. Tawfiq to visit the Maldives, emphasizing the importance of further collaboration between the two nations.

In response, Dr. Tawfiq praised the Maldives' dedication to Hajj affairs and expressed his appreciation for the invitation, signaling a willingness to deepen bilateral cooperation.

The meeting underscored the Maldives' commitment to fostering stronger ties with Saudi Arabia, particularly in areas of religious tourism, pilgrimage services, and mutual support. As both nations continue to work closely, the partnership is expected to bring further benefits to Maldivian pilgrims and strengthen the bond between the two countries.
