Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer Promotes Stronger Ties with Bahrain

Following his recent visit to Bahrain, Maldivian Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer has articulated a strong commitment to deepening the bilateral relationship between the Maldives and Bahrain. In his post-visit statement, Zameer highlighted the success of his discussions with key Bahraini leaders and outlined the potential for enhanced cooperation.
Minister Zameer expressed optimism about the future of the relationship, stating, “Our meetings with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and other Bahraini officials were highly productive. We have laid the groundwork for increased collaboration in several areas, and I am confident that our partnership will grow stronger as a result.”
He emphasized the significance of presenting a special letter to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the constructive dialogues held with Bahrain’s Finance and National Economy Minister, Oil and Environment Minister, and Tourism Minister. These discussions focused on exploring new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
Zameer also underscored the importance of his meetings with the Economic Development Board of Bahrain and Batelco CEO Maitham Abdullah, where they discussed advancements in communication services and cybersecurity.
Reflecting on the visit, Zameer noted, “The 44th anniversary of our diplomatic relations with Bahrain is a testament to our enduring partnership. This visit has reinforced our commitment to strengthening these ties and exploring new opportunities for mutual benefit.”
The visit, undertaken at the invitation of Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, marks a renewed effort to enhance diplomatic and economic relations between the Maldives and Bahrain.
