Hinna Khalid has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, effective Tuesday, marking a swift transition from her previous role as the Permanent Secretary at the Homeland Security Ministry.

Khalid’s appointment comes just a day after she resigned from her position at the Homeland Security Ministry, where she had served since June 6. The reason for her resignation has not been disclosed.

Prior to her role as Permanent Secretary, Khalid was the spokesperson for the Homeland Security Ministry and also held the position of Undersecretary at the President’s Office during the administration of former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik.

Khalid brings a wealth of experience to her new role, with academic qualifications that include a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Diploma in Social Science Research, and a Diploma in Public Health Care (PHC) Management. Her diverse background is expected to contribute significantly to her new position at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
