In a significant move to bolster patient safety, the "Mahara" portal for public comments and complaints was officially launched on International Patient Safety Day. The event was graced by former Health Minister Dr. Aiminath Jameel as the Chief Guest.
The "Mahara" portal empowers health service recipients to voice their concerns and issues, playing a crucial role in maintaining public confidence in healthcare services. By providing a platform for feedback, the initiative aims to foster collaboration between service recipients and providers, ultimately enhancing the quality of care.
Developed with assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO), the portal aligns with this year’s theme: "Strengthening the diagnostic system for patient safety." The accompanying slogan, "Complete diagnosis to ensure patient safety," emphasizes the importance of accurate diagnostics in recognizing symptoms and facilitating timely treatment.
World Patient Safety Day serves as a vital opportunity to raise awareness and promote collaboration among patients, healthcare providers, policymakers, and professionals. Proper diagnosis is fundamental to ensuring patients receive the necessary care promptly, underscoring the critical nature of this new initiative.
