Minister of Health Dr. Abdulla Khaleel Reports No Evidence of Cat Meat in Food

At a press conference addressing the implementation of the new constitution, Minister of Health Dr. Abdulla Khaleel confirmed that investigations into allegations of cat meat being used in food have found no evidence so far. He noted that there have been no civilian complaints related to this issue either.

Dr. Khaleel also discussed the broader context of the Ministry's challenges, citing the dilution of legal powers as a key concern. He announced that new legislation, effective tomorrow, will enhance the Ministry’s authority to tackle such issues more effectively. Additionally, plans for a state-of-the-art food safety laboratory in Hulhumale' are underway, with the land already secured.

The Minister highlighted forthcoming measures to ensure that imported fruits and vegetables meet safety standards. He emphasized the need for public cooperation and personal responsibility in overcoming challenges related to food security and safety.
